  • And then I saw the Lord...

A few nights ago, Paul and I went to dinner with a group of men and women (and their families) that Paul works with.  This is a semi-regular thing, which we normally do at a place called Stumpy's, which I am pretty sure I've referred to in a previous post... but because of the large amount of indigestion that usually follows one of those dinners, we decided to meet a Mexican restaurant instead...  Anyway, among those families is a family that we hang out with much more often than the rest.  They have two little boys, aged 8 and I think 6.  The oldest just adores Alex, and every chance he gets, he is at our side, giving her little pats and pokes and expressed how much he likes her and how much she obviously likes him.  After dinner, he looked at me and said, "I am really glad that God gave you this little girl."  And looked at him and smiled, "Yes.  We are too.  He does good work, does he not?"  He nodded in agreement and added, "I just don't know how he knew I would like her so much!"

And then my heart did a little flip flop and melted on the spot.
Yes.  They can get married now.

I just hope that when my little girl grows up, she will have been raised in such a way that she can speak about our Lord in such an off-hand way, with no surprise or doubt in her voice.  It really is beautiful to hear.

  • August the Twelfth

Three years ago, I was doing this...

Two years ago, I was doing this...

One year ago, I was throwing up because of this...

And now, this year I get to hang out with her...

Yep.  Life has changed.  But life is so so good.

Happy anniversary to my one and only.

  • Does this mean I have to baby-proof my house now?

She's mobile now.  Which is so awesome, but so scary at the same time.  It's just a preview of what's to come.

    Poor Violet.
Now, every day it's like a cat and mouse game.  Or... baby and dog game.

She keeps herself just out of reach... but the two of them just keep going back and forth from the kitchen to the dining room.

Speaking of the dining room, see that big window on the left?  That's a big door, and I am sewing curtains for it.

Those are the fabrics for it.  Trust me on this one.  It's going to look awesome.

    Alright.

    I am being summoned.
    Very loudly.

    One more for the road.
